USAID Program Officer

Freedom House is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that promotes liberty and democracy throughout the world. It seeks an engaged U.S. foreign policy; evaluates human rights conditions; sponsors public education campaigns; facilitates training and other assistance to promote democracy and free market reforms; and provides support for the rule of law, free media, and effective local governance.

Freedom House is seeking a Program Officer for its USAID funded Civic Oversight of Elections in Ukraine program based in Kyiv. The Program Officer assists in all areas of program management, to include, but not limited to: assisting in the overall strategy, planning and evaluation of the program; monitoring both programmatic and financial activities carried out by grantees; acting as a liaison with grantees and other partner institutions; following and reporting on political events in Ukraine, and other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate must have knowledge of the non-governmental sector, political system and elections in Ukraine; general knowledge of international donor strategies, programs, and operations in Ukraine; ability to effectively write proposals, reports, procedures, and maintain documentation; ability to read, write, and speak English and Ukrainian and/or Russian; knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required. Bachelor's degree required.
