Special Competition for Fulbright Grants to Ukraine

Approximately five United States Department of State Fulbright US Graduate Student Grants will be available to Ukraine for the 2000-2001 academic year. A special competition for these awards, with an April 7, 2000 application deadline, is currently being held.

The competition is open to all fields of study for ten-month awards.  Preference will be given to graduating seniors, Master's candidates, those enrolled in Ph.D. programs, but not yet admitted to candidacy, young professionals and young artists.

Language proficiency commensurate with the purposes of the Fulbright Program and sufficient to carry out the proposed course of study or research is expected at the time of application.

Applicants will be required to file a formal Fulbright Grants for Graduate Study and Research Abroad application. Students currently enrolled in a U.S. college or university should contact their on-campus Fulbright Program Adviser for further information and applications. Applicants not currently enrolled in a U.S. college or university should contact IIE's US Student Programs Division in New York at 212.984.5330 or one of its regional centers in Chicago, Denver, Houston or San Francisco for further information and application forms.
