Field Director: CIS

Counterpart International -- a non-profit international development agency--is seeking a Field Director for a program to support the NGO sector in the CIS. This position requires a 2 year commitment.

Experience and Skills Required: minimum of five years management experience, including projects in the CIS; proficiency in spoken Russian;
significant experience with NGO capacity-building or community development; strong organizational and interpersonal skills; cultural sensitivity; and strong writing skills.

Preferred Candidate will also have: training experience; grant-making experience; familiarity with USAID policies and regulations; experience in
government relations; and the ability to juggle multiple tasks while maintaining a sense of humor.

Job Duties include: provide overall management of all aspects of this complex program; directly manage the country office, budget and staff; manage all NGO support services including training, small grants, partnership development and information services; represent Counterpart; seek new opportunities for program development; liaise with USAID, host governments and other local and international NGOs; plan program activities; and report on all program activities.
