The Washington Group Cultural Fund in cooperation with the Embassy of Ukraine is pleased to announce its 7th season of diverse and dynamic concerts at the Lyceum in Old Town Alexandria.

The opening event of the 2007-2008 "Sunday Music Series" will present Bandurna Rozmova ("The Bandura Dialogues") featuring Taras Lazurkevych and Oleh Sozansky from Lviv and Kyiv) (http://www.ukrweekly.com/Archive/2006/500625.shtml). The virtuoso bandurist duo, currently touring the United States , will present a rich program of vocal and instrumental numbers spanning the folk and classical repertoire. The concert will be held on Sunday, September 16 at 3 pm, with a reception immediately following the performance.

On October 21 at 3 pm. the Series will showcase the winners of the Horowitz Piano Competition, a major competition for young pianists initiated in Ukraine in 1994. The concert will feature performances by Anastasia Rizikov of Canada, 8 years old; Wong Wai Yin of Hong Kong, 14; and Artem Kanke of Ukraine, 24, winners respectively, in the young, intermediate and senior groups.

Save the dates: Spring concerts are scheduled for April 13 and May 18, 2008.
