Washington Ukrainian Festival
Saturday/Sunday, September 17-18, 2005 (Noon to Dusk)
Washington Ukrainian Festival, Sponsored by the Ukrainian Festival Committee
with the support of the Ukrainian Embassy and local organizations
Saturday at 1:00 pm.
Ecumenical Prayer lead by His Eminence Archbishop Antony,
greetings from His Excellency Mychajlo Reznik - Ambassador of Ukraine to the USA
and other Dignitaries, followed by live entertainment.
Program:
- Not-to-be missed violinist virtuoso Vasyl Popadiuk
- Ukrainian Dancers Yevshan - from Rochester, NY
- Ukrainian Dancers Veseli Kozachata - from St. Andrew Cathedral
- Ukrainian Band
- Children’s Ensemble Kozachata of the Embassy of Ukraine to the U.S.A.
- Duet Chereshenky, Lidia & Gabriela Oros from NYC
- Vocalist and bandura instrumentalist Olya Chodoba-Fryz
Activities:
- All-Day Concerts and Performances (new Main Stage by the lake)
- Variety of Activities for Children (horses, trampoline, moon bounce, play area, fishing,
ice cream, popcorn, cotton candy, face painting etc.)
- Market Place (over 30 vendors featuring, Ukrainian crafts, arts, paintings, novelties,
ceramics, jewelry, clothing, music/videos, books etc.)
- Ukrainian and American Food Concessions and Picnic Area by the Lake
- Kozak Beer Garden – featuring assorted Ukrainian Beers and Liqueurs
- Volleyball, basketball, fishing, camping
Behind the Church there are 7 beautiful acres of land, lake and woods for your pleasure.
Last year we welcomed 5000 people, this year we’re ready for more!!!
