Ballet: Les Sylphides, Featuring Maxim BeloserkovskyFriday, Saturday - February 4, 5, 2005 (Start time: 7:30 p.m.)Maxim Beloserkovsky is the Poet in American Ballet Theatre's staging of Fokine's Les Sylphides at the Opera House of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The program also includes Fokine's Petrouchka, Le Spectre de la rose and Polovtsian Dances. Born in Kiev, Ukraine, Maxim Beloserkovsky trained at the School of Dance in Kiev. From 1990 to 1991, he was a principal dancer with the National Opera of Bulgaria. From 1991 to 1994, he was a leading soloist with the National Opera of the Ukraine, and while with this company was awarded the title of “etoile” in 1992. With the National Opera of the Ukraine, Beloserkovsky toured Japan, Canada, Mexico, France, Germany, Spain, Hungary, Romania, India and Egypt.
