Virsky Dance Company PerformanceSaturday, November 6, 2004 - 3:00 pmVIRSKY UKRAINIAN NATIONAL DANCE COMPANY: From contests between male dancers in the 'kazatske squat' to the lyrical dancing of the women in mosaic patterns, the Ukrainian National Dance Company brings authentic choreography and elaborately embroidered costumes to the stage. More than 75 dancers perform gravity-defying split-leaps, flips, and spins in this cultural celebration that dance critic Clive Barnes calls "the remarkable bounce and pounce of Ukrainian dancing."
