Ukrainian Folk Music PresentationWednesday, July 7, 2004 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pmThe Ukrainian Language Table will host a presentation about early 20th century recordings of Ukrainian folk music on wax cylinders by American Folklife Center summer intern ANTHONY POTOCZNIAK in the conference room of the European Division, LJ250, Thomas Jefferson Building, Library of Congress. Mr. Potoczniak will provide an overview of the "The Ryl's'kyi Institute Ukrainian Cylinder Collection," which will soon be accessible to the general public. The 45-minute presentation will feature some background information surrounding the acquisition of the collection as well as selected examples of early Ukrainian field recordings representing various musical performance styles and genres.
