Action Events: Baltimore Metropolitan Area

The Baltimore, Maryland metropolitan area Ukrainian-American Community has
initiated a series of actions related to the current election crisis in Ukraine.
- on Friday, December 3, 2004 at Noon there will be a demonstration of
picketers with informative materials about the situation in Ukraine at the
Inner Harbor. The demonstration will commence on Pratt and Light Streets at
noon.
- on Sunday, December 5, 2004 at 3:00 PM at Eastern and Montford Avenues
in East Baltimore, the heart of the original Ukrainian American Community in
Maryland a tent city will be set up by students and youth organizations to
symbolize unity with the demonstrators living in the tent city erected in
the center of Kiev's Independence Square.
- at 5:00 PM in front of the landmark Saint Michaels Church at Eastern and
Montford Avenues an outdoor candlelight vigil and ecumenical prayer service
(moleben) will be held.
All communities are being mobilized in Baltimore to support Justice,
Independence and Freedom in Ukraine.
The local committee is also participating in demonstrations in Washington, D.C.,
New York and Philadelphia and informing Senators, Representatives and the White
House of their support for the aspirations of the Ukrainian people.
Fund drives are being set up to support the demonstrators in Ukraine and
accounts for direct transmittal of donations are available at the SelfReliance
