The Carderock Pavilion, MD (C&O Canal National Historic Park)

Ball field will be available, including opportunities for lots of hiking and biking. Carderock is a favorite place for local rock-climbing too! And, you can bring your own alcohol beverages.

Directions from Virginia

Get onto Interstate 495 taking it going toward Silver Spring, MD (Northbound); take EXIT 41 Clara Barton Parkway – West (LEFT at the fork in the main exit); follow the Parkway 1/4 mile to the first exit on RIGHT, the sign will state CARDEROCK, at the top of the exit ramp turn LEFT to cross the bridge. After crossing the bridge make an immediate turn RIGHT. Follow the road going under the overpass till the next STOP sign, then turn LEFT into the Parking Lot A. The Carderock Pavilion is on your RIGHT.

Directions from Maryland

Get onto Interstate 495 taking it going toward Northern VA (Westbound); take EXIT 41 Carderock / Great Falls, MD (this puts you on a nice 2-lane parkway, known as the Clara Barton Parkway); follow the Parkway 1/4 mile to the first exit on RIGHT, the sign will state CARDEROCK, at the top of the exit ramp turn LEFT to cross the bridge. After crossing the bridge make an immediate turn RIGHT. Follow the road going under the overpass till the next STOP sign, then turn LEFT into the Parking Lot A. The Carderock Pavilion is on your RIGHT.
