Gold of the Nomads: Scythian Treasures from Ancient Ukraine
Monday, March 27th, 2000 - 8pm, at the Smithsonian
Ancient-art expert Ellen Reeder reveals the most important Scythian gold
objects found so far, many of them discovered in the past two decades. Combining
an analysis of these pieces with an overview of recent research, she explores
the identity of the Scythians and their world, including elaborate funerary
rituals trade with Greek cities, and intriguing nomadic traditions.

the editor and a contributing writer of the book "Scythian Gold.
