TWG Fellowship Fund

Since its inception in 1987, the TWG Fellowship Fund has awarded nearly $30,000 in grants for 25 distinct projects.

From 1987 to 1990, grants were awarded exclusively to Ukrainian-Americans or Canadians to conduct educational or work projects to further Ukrainian American interests, and took advantage of Washington's unique resources.

In 1990, with the new opportunities presented by the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the TWG Fellowship Committee opened its Fellowship program to candidates in Ukraine.

Between 1991 and 1996, the Fund awarded some $14,000 to support over a dozen projects/candidates from Ukraine.

Beginning in the summer of 1996, the Fellowship Fund has funded three summer internships at the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington, D.C.

  • Helena Zyblikewycz, a student at Georgetown University, served as a summer intern in 1996.
  • Alexandra Richardson, a student at Marquette University worked at the Ukrainian Embassy in Summer 1997.
  • Taras Siriy, a student at John Carroll University, is currently interning at the Ukrainian Embassy.

The Fellowship Fund relies exclusively on contributions. If TWG is to continue to support these worthwhile projects, the Fund needs your continued support.
